Memorial complex "Adamenskaya Gorka"

Adamenska Gorka is a holy place in Liozno, it was here that the last resting place of the warriors who returned peace to this Earth was found.

At the end of 1943 The Red Army launched a frontal pursuit of the enemy, who had entrenched himself on the previously captured lines and offered active resistance. During the fierce battles, the losses on our side, both killed and wounded, were great. More than 50 hospitals of military units that were stationed in the Liozno region were replenished with wounded soldiers.

Some of them healed their wounds and returned to service, others perished and remained forever lying in the Belarusian land. On the northern outskirts of the town of Liozno, on the banks of the river. Moshna, 392 Soviet soldiers were buried. They died in the fight against the Nazi invaders in 1943-44. Near the village of Alkhovik, there was a field hospital number 467. On the "Adamen Hill" 204 people were reburied from this hospital cemetery.

On the basis of archive data, studying the map of the rear of the 33rd Army (on February 22, 1944), it was found out that the majority of the reburied soldiers are those who took part in military operations in October 1943 - March 1944, partly in June 1944, and died of wounds in the hospitals of the Liozno region.
